Thanks Paul, I already have a TS-25 but I like your addition of the rail system. I think I will give it a try. I have two SS one is upgraded to a Power Pro headstock and the other is a standard 510 (which I have not put together, trying to determine how long to cut the tubes).

Here's a little twist on the Incra fence... I generally reverse this set up and use on the left side of the blade facing the right for a router table, but it can also be used as a table saw fence. The parts here are from a Craftsman 22811, which is modeled after the Ryobi BT3100. I just mounted some of the Ryobi rails on the SS. The table the Incra LS is mounted to is the craftsman router table, which has a couple of 3/4" by 3/8" miter slots.

Again just a little twist on things. I generally break down larger panels with a track saw, and use the SS for cuts under 18 inches or so. With that said, the stock ryobi fence suits me fine, and I like it much better than the stock 501 that I upgraded from.

Just received my parts to install the Incra rail system on my SS. Now to determine which machine to install it on. Decisions Decisions?

Thanks Paul for posting this. I am a new member but have had my 510 since 1986. I was looking all over the internet for a better fence for the SS when I came upon your post and pictures. I have had a Incra Ultra 24 positioner for years, when I went to the Incra home site I found I could get the rails and fence to make my Ultra 24 work as a TS-LS table saw fence. I ordered the set up and got it this last Friday. The only difference in my mounting and yours was I tapped the main table and floating table holes to accept the 5/16-18 bolts that Incra recommends for mounting the rails. With your pictures as encouragement and help it went very smoothly. Thank you again for your post.

Vince,

Would love to see a picture or two of your setup if you don't mind posting them. The Incra posted earlier in this thread didn't used the Shopsmith rails, but rather the Ryobi table saw rails. I have been contemplating adding the Incra positioner for a bit now, so anxious to see how others have implemented it on their Shopsmith.

RFGuy here are a few pictures of my install. Any questions I will be glad to answer. I have two carriages on mine and to raise and lower is easy. I also cut down my rails to 65"s instead of the 72" that it comes. May shorten them some more down the line.

You just need to run a belt around the two carriage wheels so you can turn one and raise/lower both simultaneously.

I picked up a used Incra 25 inch Ultra recently. I found the instructions for the SS Incra LS on Incra's website. I mounted the base to a piece of 3/4 inch plywood that I fastened to a floating table as the instructions explained. I used a piece of 3/4 inch plywood to mount a piece of T-track to attach the carriage to the SS fence using a couple of elevator bolts in the fence side T-track.
