I see where this is now available in a liquid from titebond.

I am considering using it this fall on the walnut chest.

Any one used it yet?

Wondering about the quality and strength .

My parents have a cherry table made by my great grand dad , he used hide glue and the thing is still tight as can be.

I have used it before in the raw form when repairing a viola and a violin but not the stuff in liquid form from the big box store.

The bottled Liquid Hide Glues are excellent. They have become my favorite assembly glue, though I still will occasionally use PVA's or epoxies on specialized jobs.

For the jobs I've done, strength is great; the wood still breaks before the glue joint.

Have fun!

My problem with the Titebond glue is that when I go to buy it locally, it has always been expired.
I now use "Old Brown Glue " http://www.oldbrownglue.com/ Longer expiration date.
