Reversing my 10ER

I'm awake and it just after 4:00 in the morning. Sleep is not coming so I might as well do a few things then sleep in. One of many joys of being retired.
So I have a 10ER and I can see a few reasons for wanting to run it backwards. Most of the issue on that is the cost of a motor with the access to the correct wires to do so. The motor I have doesn't have access and frankly I wasn't able to crack the case open to even have a look about. That is another issue but unless it turns out to be unusable as is I'm going to try to live with it. The previous owner said it was running weak, well when I took it apart the switch wiring had just a couple of strands connected, I'm hoping that is the weakness. Without load it sounded good.
The motor is a dual shaft, that is it has a shaft coming out of each end. This got me thinking, I do do that once in a while. If the motor rotation is fixed but the motor could be rotated 180 degrees the other shaft would then be running backwards. So if I could make an adapter with a center pivot point and a couple of quick hitch pins to lock it in either position.... A second pulley would make it easier. Not a perfect solution but it might work until such time as I find the right motor or go DC.
Anyone see any feasibility issues with this?
