Just installed a new control sheave in my 1985 Mark 5. Now, the speed controller arm comes into contact with the control sheave at Dado speed. What adjustment is needed?

The button in the bearing is always in contact with the quadrant "pork chop", held there by the retaining clip.

Try to do a high speed adjustment. Also reset the high speed stop.

Yes we need picture. What you are describing is 'normal'. Question is, what is happening at other speed settings?

FWIW the floating sheave is what pushes the control sheave button against the quadrant arm(by way of the motor belt).

The headstock starts and runs quietly through the low speeds up to the Dado marker, then the control sheave starts making contact with the stationary part of the speed controller. Looking through the rear access hole I can see the control sheave move outward until contact begins. The button is in contact with the pork chop and seems to be functioning normally. The retainer clip is in place behind the spring clip on the pork chop.

If a high speed adjustment or high speed stop reset are necessary, where can I find instructions?

OK a high speed adjustment is indicated(actually a high speed STOP).

That procedure also includes outer dial registration(I think that is off also - it should be at fast or above when the interference occurs).

Adjusting the high speed stop via the set screw fixed the problem. Thanks to all who responded to my cry for help. Thanks to br549 for the pdf file with instructions. Back to makin'sawdust!
