OPR What bit for pattern cutting

In anticipation of my OPR arriving, I'm thinking of projects to use it for.
I'm going to be making multiple copies of a pattern in 1/4 plywood.
A simple design, square purse handles to be exact.
Looks to me to be a good use of the pin routing.

My question is, any opinions on using a straight router bit vs a spiral cutting bit?

Obviously I'm not making tiles for the space shuttle here, either will probably work fine.

Suggest a downcut spiral bit. These produce cleaner cuts in veneered surfaces because they don't lift the grain.

Thanks Nick!

I hadn't thought about up vs down spiral.

Got my spiral bit today. Hopefully it won't be long now for the OPR.
