It's a Wheely Bug

Saw a video on youtube by Mike Peace. He stated that it was from a toy book by Richard Raffan. I thought that it was cute so I tried one. Bob

put some fins on it and ya got a wheely big fishing lure??
If any one ask if ya ever use it,, just tell em ,,na,,,,it just looks good in the box!!

Are the wheels off set on the shaft so it wiggles as it "walks"?
It looks like a fun project. I've never attempted to turn a ball shape, rather an intimidation for me. I guess I should try it a few time.

Never thought of making the wheels wiggle on purpose. They are turned between centers. The inside/body side is slightly concave. Then I drilled a 1/4" hole in the center dimple 5/8" deep and mounted the wheel on a 1/4" dowel to finish the outside slightly convex. All in all they run pretty true.
