I am a new member on this forum but I am on SSUG and have owned a Shopsmith since the Seventies. I have done a lot of cabinet and furniture work but lately do more open segmented bowls. I have attached my latest project along with the cutting fixture, Building fixture and saw setup that I use. I mention the saw setup because I recently purchased a saw blade that is truly impressive. I will give a review in the proper section of this forum. I might add if anyone is interested in segmented turning there are two good software programs and sites for help and the necessary info to do it. One is the "Segmented Project Planner" and the other is "Woodturner Pro". I have both programs. You can look up both on the internet. If someone wants it I will give my opinions on these two. I recently purchased the new headstock and it is really nice.

Bluemax, that is an impressive looking open segmented bowl. I am relatively new to this forum, and find it to be a great forum. I want to get into more bowl turning. In any event, welcome from a newbie to the forum.

Your jigs are very well built , from the looks of it you have been building jigs for some time.

A thread on jigs would be interesting.

Thanks for the pictures!

Great job ,

Yes I think I get more enjoyment out of building the jigs than the bowls. I have also built an ornamental turner and a combination cnc router and laser. Most of my bowls I give to friends or fund raisers. They seem to raise a lot of money. I have sold some but I don't consider it a money making operation.I wish I was better at it but the wife is happy. The most I can hope for.
