Have and 1 1/8 hp motor.n inside head stock on the arm of speed control. The button and clip and bearing is gone that fits on speed control. Question is do I have to replace both sheves or just the one where the clip and bearing resides?
If I just need that one and not both does anyone have a spare one? I believe when upgrading to power pro they are not needed.

Correct.

I have replaced the control sheave only, but Bill Mayo has said that sometimes the vanes do not line up correctly. Worth a gamble I believe.

I think the mother ship is the best place to get one. On the other hand if a PP upgrade is on the horizon, any source(<$) will do.

I have successfully replaced the button bearing on my 500. Not that hard a job, but you do need a second machine or stand alone lathe to do it properly. Shopsmith does not sell the bearing, but you can get them new on ebay.
