Well it has come to the time where I have out grown...

Back when I made this wall rack the idea was to have room for one Velcro disk, one of the fine/medium/course disks, one sharpening disk and one 80 grit conical disk (6 disks).
A second conical disk has been on my list for a couple of years now and it is on the buy list for this year. The good news is that it is now on sale!
The bad news is I don't have room for another disk on my board. It seems no mater what the plan you end up having to change it after a while. More work I guess for my already full scheduled. Now will that happen this year? I don't know, I guess I can store it in a box for a while.....

The lesson to learn is that you never end up with the ultimate storage solution or the ultimate router table or the ultimate shopsmith storage system. After the first half dozen ultimate's you will learn to drop the word "ultimate".

The lesson to learn is not to collect so much stuff. PM me and I'll send you my address where you can ship one of those (your choice) to make room for the new one.

I thought you were 'down'sizing.

Oh yes, I am downsizing. Here is the proof.

Sorry, Ed. I did not mean to hijack your thread. I do have disks hanging on the wall though. That sorta ties this into your thread.

I do believe in this idea of a function on a disk and thus I'm sorry to say I will be keeping the 6 I have and just be adding a 7th.
An expensive solution but it has been well worth it even with the added parts I had to buy to convert the 500 version disks to the 510/520 hubs. The kit gave you one the others I had to buy.
The conical disk sandpaper has given me grief over the years. Not positive I know why but it maybe the cold storage that I have. It loves to come loose and score my 520 table. A living memorial to that end.
I got the 3 different grit package, not sure if that is sill offered and the 80 grit package. Part of the issue was removing with the intent of reusing. That never worked out well. Thus the reason for having one disk with one grit and a second disk with a second grit.
I don't sharpen using this or I would serious think about a third disk just for that operation.
Now I have to find my list of small parts I want but don't want to pay the shipping costs for them alone. All my cleaning up has made things worse for the time being and I have no idea where that list went. Spent about an hour going through paper last night with no luck. Still have a couple of days before the sale ends so maybe I'll get lucky. If not I do remember a few things and I can at least order them.
Again the point of the post is that just because you think you have planned ahead doesn't mean you did. Things change over time, and for sure for me I've added a lot of things over the years.

I certainly agree with you Ed about planning ahead. I have the same problem with my sanding disk holder. Fortunately the way I made it (certainly not intentional) it makes it less of an issue to upgrade at this time. I do have one more flat disk but one of the four is normally on the shorty so that has not been a problem. I guess I need to remake the whole thing.
BTW, the flat disks have a piece of painters tape on the back with the grit. It makes it real easy to select the right disk.

Because the conical disk 'paper' has a gap, it is all too easy for it to get snagged and become loose(unpeeled) and act like a flap sander.

Being on sale and having stock has struck again. (Currently Out of Stock) is appearing in my order. That is OK I'm not in a rush for it.
Just nice to know that it will get here sometime and I saved a few bucks with it being on sale.

Email came saying my order shipped, so the delay wasn't a real thing. Something like fake news, fake delays???
