What, if anything, makes the motors used by Shopsmith unique.

Of special interest are the motors used in a Mark XX and in the Power Station.

From what little I know, it's the motor mounting plate.

It may be that no one an answer this but are the mounting plates the same for all of the known Shopsmith motor manufacturers.

What is the hole spacing? I'd go pull a motor to see for myself but my nurse/warden will not allow me in the shop with toys. She says I can do all of that after the doctor releases me.

IIRC the power station has a standard mounting plate.

The Mark 5/V motor mounting is unique especially the fan casting. The back end has varied over the years.

As for other attributes, have y'all ever seen another "1 1/8" hp motor?
