I apologize if this is in the wrong part of the forum.
I am considering getting the Shopsmith Speed Reducer, but my question is will it fit my old Mark VII? The Shopsmith website only mentions the Mark V, and I wasn't sure if there was enough difference between them to matter.
Thanks!

It will work!
The reason SS does not refer to the Mark VII is that they did it make em. Notice 'they' never mention Mark 5 either(even though they DID make some Mark 5).

Would the track be in the way of the speed reducer clamp?

Gear rack? No I do not think so. The clamp contacts the bottom of the way tubes, and the gear rack is on the back side of the front rail. The speed reducer itself sets on the top of the way tubes.

That's great news! Now I just need to find a used one for a good price, or put a new one on my wish list!
