Indiana has shut down many roads ,I hear I 64 is shut down in some areas do to flash flooding.

Consider yourself lucky. Some places are getting a pile of snow this weekend.

Semi ugly here, in SE WI, Ed in IL is getting some of the worst of it.

We had 4" of rain here about 25 miles south-east of Indy Saturday... Son Scott and I were at a huge twice a year Amish school fund raising auction at the Milroy / Moscow community (next auction Sept. 2nd). At times the deluge would have drowned fish. It didn't take long for the roughly 2,000 attendees to churn what was nice sod into 3" of horrible soupy slimy goo. They have up to 5 or 6 auctions going at the same time, some indoors, some under big tents and some out in the open where we spent most of the day. My nice new lightweight high-top shoes, bought recently at a farm store clearance sale, did stay dry inside as promised. Unfortunately my light wind-breaker with hood that has often kept me dry before suffered a miserable failure yesterday, I was quite soaked. Still you just have to carry on...
I did feel really sorry for one Amish lady that apparently reached up and tugged on the roof edge of one of the big tents and got a sudden bath of at least 5 gallons of water from an edge pocket. She stayed in good humor and the other Amish lady with her was laughing herself silly.
The rain mostly quit sometime after lunch and later the sun popped out and a nice drying breeze improved things a lot. Still a soupy mess, many 4 x 4 trucks with large trailers were getting stuck all over the place and many had to be towed out by some of the loading equipment. We had a pretty good load of stuff in the truck and on the trailer but were both too tired to bother with unloading last night so we will do it this afternoon. Long day...
BTW, they sold several thousand board feet of rough-sawn hardwood lumber but I was at a different part of the sale at the time. It usually sells pretty reasonably.

For those of you who haven't noticed, it is Spring, the nastiest season of the year.
And, the rest of the bad news is that tomorrow starts May which has the ugliest weather of any month the year.
The semi-good news is that Summmer comes in June and sometimes it is better than Spring.
It is a long wait yet for Autumn when the beautiful weather arrives.

Had a weird storm blow through yesterday about 13:00. Wind, thunder, lightning, slow drizzle, which developed into a downpour. Temp dropped to 40 and, the rain became little white balls, too soft to be called hail. Covered the ground pretty good. Clouds parted, the white balls melted and, by 17:00 the temp was 50.
It's now 05:00 and 30 degrees. Not a cloud in the sky. Supposed to hit 70.

I don't think we had as much as predicted , the storm seems now to be holding to the west of us .

,our 375 gallon rain barrel for the garden is full , too bad I don't have a couple more .
