Assuming this is legit, and I'm not sure it is.....

I recently read a review and the Garrett Pro-Point came out on top. Amazon has a decent price point. If I ever have to replace mine I'd look at one of these.

Not having personally owned this brand I can only say what I read. Back when I got mine the Lumber Wizard seemed like a good unit but they have updated theirs several times since. I can say I have never had it seem to miss metal bits but then who really knows what lurks in the deep wood.

This Garrett is exceptional! I occasionally borrow it from a friend who made a decent living salvaging ranch and farm buildings.

It found a piece of a broken screw buried in a plank that would have destroyed the blades in my planer.

Yes, a bit pricey, but think of the cost of just one set of planer or jointer blades or a nice saw blade.

Just my opinion.
