TABLE EXTENSION ON FRONT OF MARK V

Post by woodmeister »

I have a couple of these removable extensions and they seem only to work on the mark v tables with the grove in them from the foundry. Are they adjustable for the tables with the tables with the metal strip?
Thanks,
Tom

There are two versions one each for the two different front table rails.

The 'early' version will attach to a Mark 5 aux table, but that will only provide extension (the miter gauge is not usable there).

What is this early version that you are talking about that will attach to the auxiliary table?

The greenie(and early goldie) main table has the cast in rail like the Mark 5(narrow) aux table.

The miter slot extension clamp is different from the later version that attaches to the extruded rail.

I sure would like one of the older ones. Is anyone willing to part with one?

FWIW, the 'new'(current) version of the extension table CAN be adjusted to work on the 'old'(narrow) extension table.

However the adjustment will only work on one or the other, not both simultaneously.

Which is which? I have one with a clamp like one on the right side of the photos above. It seems to clamp on both types of main tables. I have another one, but that is currently unavailable because I don't know where it is.

ETA: Checked this out better on a new table. It doesn't clamp down tight. It is solid on an old table.
