I got more of the "SS Bug" lately so I've put the Retrofit Saw Guard on my older model 500. Nice to be tinkering again!
At the same time I got the latest Carbide Combination Thin Kerf / super-duper Germany-made SS blade. I ran this today and for the first time my Mark V table-saw mode sounded *exactly* like the ones in the Sawdust Sessions. I mean it sounded like a precision "whoosh" rather than a tinny "zing." Of course this brings to mind several ideas for controlled experiments to see what's responsible for such a nice sound.... should I ever get bored.
