Another in the Hot Rod Freaky Ford series. A lavender and metallic purple paint scheme. The paint is Behr Oops paint form Home Depot I get for $0.50. When ever I'm in the store I walk by the paint department to see what they have. At first I grabbed everything but soon realized that I would wind up with a garage full of paint if I wasn't more selective. Now I only buy the bright colors and prefer the exterior paint/primer. I find that it covers much better that the interior paints.

You ought to do one in a Candy Apple red or green. Remember that? It would be fun to do on something that small. The real ones not so much LOL.

For a reminder, you paint a silver or gold metal flake base coat and then many coats of translucent red or green pigmented overcoat. The more overcoats, the "deeper" it looks. If I had the time ....

I learned how to paint candy colors when I was about 17 in 1968 or there about. I when to a school and learned how to do custom paint. I know how to do it at least with old school paints. It's probably not going to happen. the primary reason I'm messing around with acrylics i that I don't have a spray booth of any kind and acrylics aren;t known for killing brain cells or starting fires.

Still I find the idea of cany colors very apealing. I once painted a car Candy Sapphire Blue on a silver base. Prettiest paint job I ever did.

I'll bet that was pretty. You can get a krylon silver or gold and you can get what they call "nightshade"that you could do the over coats. I was going to paint one of my ER's that color but decided on the gold/verdy green.
Still looks good!

Btw 17 in 68 .... You a 69er also?
