The update to the Clearvue shows they learned. The Rockler unit is NOT a cyclone. It is just a smaller version of the garbage can lids they and others sell. The difference is very evident by the results shown. A true cyclone is much more efficient than anything else. The new Clearvue is more efficient than the Dust Deputy based on his videos.

To add to the story:

When ask "So, on the last shoot out, you declared the Dust Deputy the winner. Which unit do you recommend now?"

Reply " Performance-wise I'd say the CV-06 and the Dust Deputy are equivalent. If there's a difference, I don't have the resources to detect it. But Oneida would still win purely based on a better price-point. I talked to Clear Vue about how hard it's going to be to justify buying their unit over the lower-priced Dust Deputy but unfortunately there's nothing they can do about it at this point. The costs are the costs. So again, based on the steep price difference I'd say the Dust Deputy."

From Rockler "The Dust Right® Separator creates a cyclonic air flow that causes most wood dust particles and other materials that are heavier than air to separate, preventing them from being passed to the vacuum. The vortex effect that is created prevents the loss of suction caused by prematurely clogged filters."
