I'm unsatisfied with the lack of a system for batteries and changers that I now have. Basically sitting on a bench and piled on a shelf.

I was thinking of some "shelf" or the likes where I could have the charges setting with room to charge and then a location for the batteries. Co-location would seem like a good idea. Maybe a power strip with switch for each of the chargers?

I have limit wall space to hang things so compact would also be importation. It could sit on the work bench I guess but it would be nice to hang it somewhere.

So ideas?

Size certainly depends on the amount of batteries and the number of chargers. Realize that might change over time.

I would make a wall hanger with two sloped shelves. The bottom would have the the chargers and the top shelf would have the battery storage. The power would be on an apron below the bottom shelf.

Do they make power strips with a switch on every outlet? If so that is what I would use. Otherwise I would wire up a set of outlets and switches on the apron. I really like the idea of being able to turn off each charger individually.

Just a tiny bit of food for thought... I have been thinking of two side factors on this. Maybe I'm just getting paranoid in my geezer-hood but I am thinking of using fire proof materials, maybe in a location clear of flammables and since I'm putting a fire sprinkler head in for the wood burning furnace maybe I should run a second one for the charging station? Probably not the best idea to hang the charging station on the wood burning furnace.
Maybe I have been watching too many videos on the news of LI device batteries bursting into wild flames.

Power strip is on order, looks like it will be here in two days, so long as it doesn't get missed shipped like a recent order, shipped to Aurora IL but went to Appleton WI????? Anyway it will be here before I finish my design so I can see how it will all fit in more or less.

This is a very preliminary sketch. The power strip will be above, small cable management area above the battery area(left side bins) and the chargers stored to the right with the ability to pull them out on the shelf for charging.
I was thinking about the fire issue, I'm not sure I can see a good way to protect things as those fires are HOT. I could put some sheet metal down but it wouldn't do much I don't think. Anyway if I think of something I might implement it but right now I'm stumped on this issue. Fire brick???

Still open to ideas or to here what you have done.

I finally had a chance to read the article. The charge shelf has a power strip and the top shelf serves to hold drill accessories. They even hung a air tool from it. The beauty of it is it can be as big or small as you need. What I like best each tool is secure in it own slot and covered from dust and damage.

Thanks for the nudge Ed. I have not been happy with how I have the chargers set up for some time. I tend to leave the batteries on the charger plugged in until I need to swap one which is a pretty stupid idea. Dates back to the NiCad days. I need to pull them off and turn off the charger off when they are done. I like the idea of the power strip with the individual switches.

Another day another way to go. As I mentioned I'm starved for wall space to hang things so I went on a quest to find a place this morning. I have one but it limits me to just 16" of width, height is not too big a concern at this point.

This is take two:
I'm still waiting on the power strip to see how I can get that to fit. If that becomes the issue then a take three to follow.

Right now I have all the charges in a Stanly soft side bag, well unless they are in use or I haven't put them away yet. The batteries on a shelf. The drills,etc have their own storage place so this project is just about the batteries and the chargers.

I do like the system that Ed posted but that boat has already sail another way for the most part.

The other issue is growth and or changes which is limited at this time..... I can accommodate more then I now have but not a lot more.
