Bandsaw Table connector and Rip Fence

Ran into something new to me. I was cutting small pieces of different sizes on the bandsaw along w/ the rip fence. Kept having to readjust the tension knob on the fence and the left/right set screws several times. The fence just wouldn't stay parallel to the blade. I realized that the nob that holds the table halves together, was interfering w/ the end of the rip fence. Which cantered the fence when I adjusted the fence for small cuts. Has anyone else had this happen or do I have something out of alignment?

The screws that bias the fence(away from parallel to the blade) are not intended to make the fence parallel to the blade. That is adjusted elsewhere.

If the table clamp knob is interfering with the fence, add a spacer board to the face of the fence.
