Is your Private Message Notification turned on?

Just a reminder, especially to newer members, you might want to check to be sure you have enabled the option to be notified of Private Messages (PM).

This can be done after you log in, on the User Control Panel. Depending on which Board Preference you use, it may look different than below, but this is what it looks like using the Shopsmith Board Preference.

I bring this up because I have recently sent PMs to a couple of members to alert them of bargains available on CL in which they might be interested, based on their past posts of saying they are looking for a particular part, Special Purpose Tool (SPT), etc.

Until a PM is read by the recipient, it remains in the Sender's Outbox, so I know in my case that the PMs I sent have not been seen or read by the intended recipients. Unless you log in every time you come to the Forum website, and then check for PMs, you may not know that you have a PM. Having an email notification sent to you by Shopsmith is a great way to be notified, just in case you don't visit or log in regularly.

P.S. While making the first screen shot to attach to this post, for some unknown reason my preference had been changed from "yes" to "no". I have tried changing it back several times, clicking Submit, getting a message saying my preference has been changed, and every time I check it has reverted back to "no". I have sent Admin a PM about this, and hopefully they will be able to correct it soon.

EDIT: There is a second window you can also access from the User Control Panel (Edit notification options), and in that window, the notification options can be checked or unchecked. In my case, it is showing correctly that that I checked to receive email notifications of PMs.

Perhaps you need to logoff and back on for the change to be reflected correctly on the 'change' screen.
