Final project

Not my final project, but my last project for my mom who passed in March at the age of 90. As i was also the funeral director I could have used any urn I wished, but I wanted something special for her. Mom spent the last several years sitting most of the time at her dining room table of which she loved. Solid mahagony. None of my siblings wanted the table so I fired up the Shopsmith and made her urn. The top has an inlay of beech from a tree behind her home that was taken down the same time she passed. Lots of childhood memories in that tree. If someone tells you that you can’t take it with you, they are wrong. You can!

My condolences on losing you mother. That is truly a beautiful piece and also a wonderful idea to include wood from the things she knew and loved ! An excellent job on both accounts.
