Reminder for those near by, Shopsmith demo come up. I plan to go on Friday and might order a couple of smaller things since this will be the last demo in the area for a while.

I like to order better at Lowe's with the military 10% off but since this is a woodcraft that will not be happening but still cheaper then normal through shopsmith.

Ed,
Since Woodcraft is a franchise, is the one you are going to, one that might price match? I don’t know that they do a Veteran’s discount (never asked them and the closest is 300 Miles so don’t visit to often), but they still might honor that discount or part of it.

Be well,
Ben

I am a fairly regular visitor to Woodcraft because I have one just a couple miles from home BUT I have never asked about nor have I been offered a veterans discount. I do wear a cap that signals that I might be a veterans so if they offewred one I believe I would know. However, the next time in I will ask.

I do benefit, in a lot of places that I did not expect, from "over 60" discounts. That eligibility is clearly evident.

I just called the local Woodcraft in Salt Lake and asked the question. They do offer a 10% military discount. However, they are not a corporate store and they did not know the corporate policy and of course had no knowledge of other franchise stores.

The Woodcraft in Colorado Springs only offers a 10% military discount on Thursday's.

Slow day at the demo. I got there about 11:00 and was the first one to stop by the shopsmith. Two others came by too but no real demo, just answering questions and explaining things.

I did buy the tail stock arbor for my brother, and another item for myself, the quick index quill for my shorty.

The lathe arbor was $2.36 off and the quill kit was $6.90 off. That amounts to about 10% off.

The order goes directly to shopsmith not through the Woodcraft store. So it is a better deal to shop at lowes if you have the military discount. This store is also in an area of 8% sales tax, typical in IL for the local people to add on to the state tax.

The good news is that I have the order in and should have it soon, no rush for my stuff but I want to get my brothers item off to him as soon as I can.
