Here are photos from my deck of our first snowfall this year. I estimate around 6". The tree in the foreground stands tall; but, not so this morning. Touching ground until I knocked some snow off (didn't help much). fortunately we didn't have any broken limbs in our yard. however, that is not the case in the area.

Cool!
We are in the middle of a major rain event. If it were snow we would be in trouble........

In Minnesota, if it's snowing we like to say "well, at least it's not cold". And it if cold we say, "well, at least it's not snowing". Always looking for the bright side. But thanks for the reminder I should put turning off the water on the To Do list.

No snow here...yet. Around Thanksgiving is the earliest we can expect any.
We're at 6K feet so, it does snow. Usually 1" or 2" is the limit here. However, we've seen 3' in March...once. I'm not a fan.

I just happened to blow out my sprinkler system yesterday. I'm all winterized and good to go. That poor tree of mine is still bent; but, no breaks.
Sorry to make a good thing out of other's misfortune; but, I need to go around and see if I can help cut some broken limbs in the area so I can get some turning wood.

This will likely melt in a couple of days, and who knows when our next snow will be.

This snow was very wet (hence the trees), compared to our normally dry winter snow.

No snow here yet, and I hope none arrives until the leaves are off the trees so I don't have breakage.

No snow and no leaves here.
That is good because I don't own either a leaf rake or a snow shovel.

Sure is beautiful snow from a distance. I grew up in Vermont and spent seven years in West Germany. Loved to ski. I still have a snow shovel I use for bigger piles of sawdust. When we lived in Jacksonville, NC it was always funny to see the number of snow blowers and snow plows at garage sales that were seldom needed anymore.
