Replacement safety key or solution for old Mark 7 Headstock

I was able to get a Shopsmith Mark 7 (I am told the old model) - not the one with the push button panel. The problem is, it does not have the safety key that is an actual metal key that goes into a lock located underneath the Rev/Stop/Fwd switches on the headstock.
The folks at Shopsmith.com said they did not carry the replacement key or even the whole switch assembly with the key and to post on this forum and I would likely get an answer.
Does anyone know of a solution to my problem?
I thought I saw a post in a google search that recommended getting a copy from another owner to see if that would work but that is the only recommendation I saw so far other than hacks to work around the safety switch.
I posted a picture of the switch and lock if that helps.
Any ideas are most welcome. Thanks in advance.

Pull the key block out and take it to a locksmith.

I don't have the Mark 7, but I have the Sawsmith which takes the same key. I can have one cut for you. PM me your address and I'll get it in the mail.

Would the locksmith be able to make a key or would he need to replace the whole lock mechanism? I am not sure how the lock is tied into the switches to keep it from working. I would just go to the hardware store and get a lock and replace it if it was a simple cabinet lock but I suspect it is not. And I have not been able to find a replacement part for the lock mechanism on any shopsmith or replacement parts website.
Thanks for the response. All input on options is much appreciated.

It looked like there might be a similar item for the shopsmith dust collector. Do you know if that might work as well? I do not have one but I might be able to find a replacement key or part for that.

A good lock smith should be able to make a key.

The key is the same as used on the sawsmith. Take Heathicus up on his offer.
I have had copies made - very inexpensive.
BTW you have a Mark VII (ignore that tag that says Mark 7).

I did take him up on the offer. I am waiting to see if that works first.
And yes it does say Mark VII and not 7. Still new to the tool and forum
Thanks much.

It WILL work!
A mystery as to why the tags are 'both' ways.
