I have just purchased a Mark V Serial No. 79141 model 500 that is missing lots of parts and pieces. I ordered a 5/8 saw arbor( No.555-321) and it is on backorder until who knows when. Is the 5/8 saw arbor the 505, 510, 520 interchangeable they have that one in stock

First, welcome to the forum. You will find this a great resource with many helpful members.

The other 5/8" arbors (for a model 505, 510, or 520) will work, but they are slightly longer and not ideal. I used one of these on my 500 for several years before finally learning the difference and getting the proper size arbor. With the proper length arbor, the saw blade should be "centered" in the table slot with the table carriage pushed up tight to the rubber bumper between it and the headstock. By advancing the quill, and not abutting table carriage to the bumper, you can compensate for the difference in arbor length and get the blade more or less centered in the table slot.

In the long run, I recommend just waiting to get the proper arbor. They do sometimes show up used on ebay, but not as often as the longer versions. There is a third party seller on ebay who sells their version, though it is more expensive than through Shopsmith.
