Your Account Has Reached the Upgrading Stage.

What does this message mean? Should I be clicking on it to see for myself. I get two or three similar messages from the Microsoft Account Team every week.

If this what I think it is (a scam) one would think that Microsoft would step in and put a stop to it.

Do you have some type of Microsoft account that is due for renewal? If not then the answer is obvious. If the title is a direct quote from the message it looks to me like it was written by someone whose native language is not English.

Hover over the link in the email and see where it is really taking you. My bet it is not Microsoft. Also what is the from address on the email? Again, I bet it is not Microsoft.

I get the same type of thing all the time about my Xmission email/web mail account. Yes, Xmission.com is my email provider. These scam emails use the word Xmission all over them but they don't actually come from Xmission and the link they want you to click does not take you to Xmission. They all say pretty much the same thing. They want you to click on the link and verify your email/web mail information due to some server maintenance or upgrade.

They all also use the word Team (Xmission Accounting Team, Xmission Email Team, etc.) in the signature.

I would suggest that you just delete the messages and ignore them. If something expires, it is more than likely something you didn't need anyway.

I don't own or use anything Microsoft so for me messages like that would definitely be a scam.

"Your account has reached the upgrading stage" is some rather odd phrasing that indicates a scam to me.

It sounds like Engrish is a number two language.
