the noise from the unit is very high pitched & to the point that I am not using it - have others noticed that or is something about my vac out of wack?

Weird initial post fer sure!algale wrote:not normal

My first step would be to look for clogs or obstructions in the hose or intake (thing the hose goes into).
Next, I'd remove the upper fabric filter hood (now would be a good time to shake it out) and brush off the motor/fan housing so I could open that fan housing up and inspect the fan for clogs or damage.
Also, check the exhaust port and its filter.
Replace/empty the plastic collection bag.
See if that fixes the issue.
This is messy so suggest you do it outside if the weather permits.

I think of the hood as the exhaust port/filter.
We do not. That's why I asked if he was talking about a DC3300 before I gave suggestions. No response yet.dusty wrote:Do we know what sort of dust collector is being discussed? The noise may be normal. He does refer to it as a "vac" and not a dust collector.
