I have been wanting to pick up a electric hand planer now for a long time , was looking around and found one made by a company called W E N,,, Since I had a few amazon points I picked up one for 20 bks out of pocket,,,,, the thing seems pretty straight forward and works rather well,,,, so far ,,,,, it has several convenient features ,,I think I am satisfied ,, any one else have any W E N tools , I see now where they make a lot of different pieces.

I have the WEN 4210 bench drill press 10 inch and very pleased with it, very well built and works great for a little over $100 was a great buy, also have a twenty year old WEN electric wet grinder still works like a champ, can sharpen every thing from scissors to chisels, does a decent job. Have several of the titanium drill bit sets, they were sharp and seems to stay that way, have had them for several years, no complaints. Been looking the WEN thickness planner, but haven't pulled the trigger on it yet, but seems to be a good planner for $200 range. Think you got a great deal, sure you'll be happy with it, WEN is good company been around since the early 50's

I have a WEN air filtration system that I like. The only problem I have had is a cold solder joint in the remote that was easily fixed.

They make their tools in China at factories that slap different brand name stickers on the same equipment with minor changes. A lot of their stuff has Craftsman and Rikon clones so I expect the same quality as those names. I bought their shop air cleaner off Amazon and have no issues. I'd buy them again after some research and investigation into the tool, like any purchase.

Yep looks like the one I have, except it's black with the WEN logo..also has a adjustable tool rest looks very much like the same unit otherwise. WEN called them wet wheels Works pretty good, I use it on scissors and rough sharpening for chisels and plane irons if they need a lot of material taken off (i.e chipped edge) makes for less hand honing the edge.. PIA to set up, needs to be close to ac power and have to fill with water, cleanup is also PIA, so usually wait until I have several items needing sharpening.

I have a Wen air filtration unit (purchased a few months ago) and a Wen slow speed bench grinder (purchased a little over a month ago). I would recommend them based on my experience. The reason I went with the Wen Slow speed grinder was based on my good experience with the air filtration unit.

I seen those listed , I know you cant judge a book by its cover but they do look well built .
I had the chance last night to give the planer a good test and must say I was impressed .
