I had to make a quick trip to Albuquerque today and ended up at a wonderful restaurant named Antiquities. Incredible food. During the course of the dinner I was offered fresh ground pepper on my salad and as the waiter was grinding the pepper using a pepper mill it literally fell apart in his hands. I asked to see the mill because I wanted to see what hardware was in it. It was very cheaply made in comparison with the Wood River hardware I used for the Xmas presents. A discussion with the owner began and he tells me that they are a constant problem for him. If he gets six weeks out of one it is a success as far as he is concerned. The hardware used was pressed in only with no screws holding anything in. After a while the hardware loosens up and falls out. I struck a deal with him and will make him a set and he gave me free desert !
