Oiled the Table Elevation Pinion

I have had a very annoying squeak developing ever since I got back into my shop to make some saw dust. The squeak occurred when the Table Elevation Wheel was at about 7:00 o'clock but it occurred only when raising the table. I thought it was the table legs squeaking in the carriage because I have not be taking care of the machine as in the past.

I decided that before I pack it away in the POD, for I don't know how long, I had best clean and wax like my machine has come to expect. When I put it all back together, to my great disappointment, it still squeaked. A very annoying noise. Cleaned out the holes in the carriage and rewaxed the table legs. Still squeaks.

As a last resort, I decided to apply some oil. I put just a drop of machine oil on the Table Elevation Pinion (170) right where it protrudes from the front of the carriage. In all of my many years, I have never oiled the carriage. I wax but never oil.

Now I guess it is a wait and see situation.
