Storage

I've never figured out the perfect way to store tools and accessories for my Shopsmith. I built a rolling cabinet that fits under the Shopsmith when stored, but this cabinet overflowed almost as fast as I built it. I kept accumulating small parts that just wouldn't fit in the two drawers my rolling cabinet has.
So, this winter I'm trying another approach. I built a Shopsmith "parts cabinet" that will hopefully hold all the small parts, and keep them in a better organized fashion so they are easier to find. I made this cabinet with 4 small drawers and a larger bin up under the top cover. Hopefully this will work for all the small parts. I still have to make dividers for the drawers to keep the small parts from rolling around.
One thing I already found out is that it will need to be either on a permanent shelf or on a rolling base because it already weighs over 30 pounds empty, and will easily weigh more than double that when filled.

It is not big enough. There is a standing rule that says need requirements must always exceed storage capacity.

However, you have done an excellent job on your chest. If I had it and you had a feather, we would both be tickled. ;) ;)

Beautiful piece of work! And while I agree with Dust that there is never enough storage, that will do a good job organizing the small stuff!

Very nice!

What are the dimensions?

And yes there is never enough storage for things............never.

It is 20" wide by 12 deep by 16" high. I wanted it wide enough to lay the lathe chisels into one of the drawers. Hopefully I got it right so it keeps all the small parts in an orderly space.

I decided to make a base cabinet on wheels to be able to move the top one around the shop.
