Questions for those who have actual paint on your shop walls.

The questions are:
What color(s) do you have them painted now?
If you were doing it again would you use the same thing?
And, do you have any pictures?

No, I don't have any paint on mine yet. At this point I'm still looking at plain concrete blocks or the OSB of my cleat wall system (still limited to one 40' wall).
I also don't have a ceiling, just the open joist system of the floor above. It is still clean and bright, not really dark like under the old part of the house that is about 180 years old. Many years of coal heating really darkens wood up.
I have some nice new white aluminum siding that is in about 30" x about 80" sheets.
I have mixed emotions about the ceiling... Part of me wants to just ignore it. Part of me wants to drag in the airless sprayer and paint it white all up in it but that is a bit $$$ and a lot of work. I don't want to paint it black, it's a woodshop not a home theater or a Walmart. I need all of the light bounce I can get. The aluminum kind of has a big edge since I could put a little cheap thin sound-proofing above it. Also the aluminum was paid for long ago.

I was leaning toward 2 shades of soft yellow like the dining room of our favorite restaurant but lately I have been wondering about a mid green and a light green together.
I'll probably just use a light gray or a tan on the floor.

My ceiling and walls are OSB. The ceiling is gloss white and the walls are an off white (Fawn was the color). The floor is tan epoxy. I would not change a thing.

Well, I attribute most of my discipline to my having worked with nuclear and conventional weapons during my 24 years in the Air Force.

I painted a bunch of 1/2” OSB panels outside first, then started putting them up as interior walls. I had no want for sheet rock. I happened upon a 5 gallon “mistake” at Lowe’s for $24 . It’s sort of a very light matte grey when dried. It’s made a big difference with the LED shop lights even though it’s a matte finish.
I’m happier that I did all the mess of the painting outside.
They are installed using Kreg 1-1/2” coarse screws so they are easily replaced if damaged.

My garage is painted what is called flat builder's white. The code here is that all garages have to be finished. I have seen some with just the drywall hung but the builder of this place decided to also tape and paint. He left all the paint cans that still had paint left over as well so I know exactly what was used.

I hung white pegboard on all of my workshop walls. Nice and bright, plus it provides a lot of storage.

My ceiling is also exposed joists, but only about 7-1/2’ high. I will NEVER cover it up. As it is, I can store tons of stuff between the joists. A light-colored paint would be nice, though.

My old shop didn't have good lighting and had low ceilings so it was all white. When I built the new shop, I added 20 recessed can lights and a dozen halogen spots in a 26x26 shop so lighting isn't an issue.

The ceiling is 10' and flat white. The walls are light yellow which cuts down the harshness of the bright lights. The floor is ExpoxyShield tan.

Finally bought some paint today... Glidden semi-gloss. Wall color is a softish yellow maybe just a frogs whisker more yellow than "Twistsol's" walls above. My main trim color is the same paint but a couple of shades deeper yellow.
I'm going to start with the top half of the 40' east wall. The part with my cleat system on it. I may need to give it a quick coat of "Kilz" to keep the black printing on the OSB from showing through. I plan to paint it all with the light yellow then paint just the faces of the cleats with the deeper yellow. My cleats are about 14" apart so it won't take a lot of painting to do them.
I have not decided about the bottom half of the wall yet. I could leave it block and just paint it but I have a half inch of blue foam board under the upper half (That one is an outside wall) and I think it makes a nice thermal break and moisture barrier. Moisture has not been a problem but I just want to head it off at the pass. I was going to put the foam board at the bottom as well and cover it with the 7/16" OSB but... HAVE YOU PRICED OSB THIS WEEK!?!?!? It has doubled in price since I bought a batch not long ago. Maybe I'll just paint the foam board...
I'll likely just bite the bullet and buy the OSB anyway but you can be sure that I will be grumbling and muttering under my breath when I pay for it.
