Yet another SO project. Here is the left overs minus the small wheels which I've already removed when I pulled this off the backer board. As you can see there were 5 parts cut out and each had 6 sides. It is also clear the hole in the middle can not be seen any more in this photo, but it is there.

Here is a shot with the 5 pieces glued together:

Now you can see the hole......... but I doubt it will help you guess what it is going to be. I can see where some might be thinking clock but you would be wrong. He is another couple of shots, and yes it is 1/2" plywood.

And yes that is a speaker grill.

So how well did you do on this mystery? Now for full disclosure:

What make this fun was sizing the hole to fit the parts. I went with a pretty good guess but the hole was too tight. With the SO I just did an off-set cut, actually a couple of them until I had a nice fit.

And yes it works, I charged up the battery (USB port) then connected from my phone........... now I have my very own bluetooth shop speaker. If you just want a speaker you can do better, but if you want a project it is a simple one that works this might be for you.

Ed,
I like the way you did the rounded hex instead of a plain box. I came out looking very nice. That's thinking outside the "um" box. :D
By the way I didn't have a clue. Until you put the speaker in, it was looking like a fancy napkin ring. :o

Very nice Ed. So I guess we all have to come to your house for a rock and roll party to test these speakers !!
