A small surprise

One nice thing about being cluttered and disorganized is the nice surprises you get now and then. I normally know what I have and within reason where it is (has anybody seen my black 6 amp battery charger?) I was putting some stuff away in the farm shop and sorting some stuff on a small table that has not been moved in years and I found this 11.5" broad-axe. In this case I have no idea at the moment where I acquired this one. It had to have been very cheap at a yard sale or in a batch of stuff at an auction. I have a good broad-axe in the wood shop complete with a properly angled handle including the required layer of black cloth tape (once called "friction tape" and used heavily by electricians before plastic tape came along) on it. I also have a couple of broad-hatchets there. I would not have paid much for another one since I had one already and you don't wear these things out. Maybe since I have another good one I should put a handle in this one properly angled for other uses like the occasional beheading etc. instead of squaring timbers.

Good to have around. Many countries throughout history have found them handy for unelecting officials and politicos

A small surprise? AT that size it is at least a medium surprise going on. Well that at least is my opinion.
