Should be 5/16 X 18, length to suit. I will check in a minute to be sure.

5/16 X 18 is correct with a flat point. About 1/2 inch long

Nope. They are talking about this base. http://www.shopsmith.com/ownersite/cata ... ngbase.htm

Note that I don't want to come across as picking on anybody, everybody needs to do their own thing and just enjoy their hobbies...
But, being the eccentric that I am... :D  I have to say this. I guess it is just me, but if I had a woodshop (and I do) and decent woodworking skills (and I do) :) and needed to live pretty frugally (and I do) :) I would be really hard pressed to pay $50 (plus shipping) for an item I could easily make out of about 1 board foot of wood...
It "is" a nice piece but it is so silly overpriced it's, well, silly... I believe that they can no longer claim they need to recover research and development cost on it. That should have been paid off long ago. I assume that they probably farm out the casting work and that may make it cost more but on a good day it should be about a $25 item.

Yes I agree that it is overpriced. But I have one that came with a used jointer I purchased and it has no setscrews. So everytime i pick it up to put it on the Shopsmith, the mounting base falls off and I am getting tired of having a sore foot from it falling off. So I already have the base, just needed the set screws for it.

Bare with me, I am in the process of unpacking after a relocation from one side of town to the other. I have the set screws that you need. Send me a PM with your mailing address and I'll send to you a couple set screws for the mounting base.

Please confirm that this is the mounting base that you have (with no set screws).
