It seemed like it was time for an update on the bathroom which is a combination of projects I have posted. It is finally starting to come together. The walls and marble floor are done, toilet set, picture frame completed and lights on the wall. Still have to finish installing the sink pedestal, make and install a threshold and get the mirror made. The boss is happy so all is well.

Now that is really nice. I can't let my other half see this as it would definitely invoke the SHMBO syndrome for me and I'd have a hard task as my skills are nowhere near what you have displayed. Well done.

I show my husband and point out what I could possibly do if I had the tools/accessories and practice/experience to do. Normally gets me more shop time and sometimes a "practice" wood or tool budget. Just need to show improved skills over time. The key is to make sure that your significant other understands that you could not possibly do that without a lot of practice.

The thing to do when working on projects is not to get overwhelmed or over think the project as a whole. They are always a combination of cuts etc that when taken individually are not that complex or difficult. Especially with a SS. Both the pedestal and picture frame were challenging but both were done almost entirely on a SS. The only other tool I used was a router table on the picture frame for the round over and rabbet which could be done on the SS quite easily. The pedestal was done completely on the SS. It’s the only lathe I own and the segmented rings were cut and flattened on the SS using a sled and the disc sander. The miters on the picture frame were done using the same sled. If I ever have to do a picture frame like that again I will definitely not use a router table to cut the channel down the center. The table saw, SS or any other would have done a much cleaner job. Zebra wood is pretty nasty stuff.

The combination of the panther print and the zebrawood frame is absolutely stunning. Which inspired which?

The panther print was first. She played with the angle of the bias on the grain and then settled for what you see.
