Anyone knows what are the compatible jointer models for the Jointer Feather Guard Retro-fit Kit? I restored a Magna 620 but can't find guard anywhere or define if the Jointer Feather Guard Retro-fit Kit that Shopsmith sells is actually compatible. Any suggestions?

The current guard upgrade is compatible but requires drilling and tapping.

As JPG said it is compatible with yours. For anyone interested it will fit all Magna/Shopsmith 4" Jointers going back to the first one the Model 4E made for the Shopsmith Model 10E & 10ER. They only require drilling the 7/32" hole and tapping it to 1/4"-28 for the Stop Knob as shown in the instructions. The Jointer Retro-Kit can also be added to any of these Jointers except the Chip Chute cannot be used with the Model 4E because it mounts differently. The Rear Cutter Guard and Shaft Guard can be added to the Model 4E. This also requires some drilling and tapping mounting holes.

Based on that recommendation where I replied to a user about the same thing, I wrote Shopsmith only this morning asking that the website add information to the 555783 Rip Fence-Mounted Featherboard.

Respectfully, I suggest additional information be added on 555783 Rip Fence-Mounted Featherboard as it fits an additional model if you upgrade to the 500 Rip Fence.

555783 Rip Fence-Mounted Featherboard Ad presently States For use with Model 510 & 520 Rip Fences only. Ad should state: (and Model 500 with 555646 Model 500 Rip Fence Upgrade)
