Scroll Saw Modification Question

I tried Searching the forum for this but was not successful. Was wondering if anyone has modified the Shopsmith Mounted Scroll saw to a Stand Alone Scroll saw? I have the Shopsmith mounted one and on the power pro it is great but after a couple of hours running the saw the power pro headstock does get a little warm. I was thinking it might be maybe quieter with a stand alone motor.

I cannot imagine that the scroll saw would be a challenge for the PowerPro. The only thing I can think of would be the lack of air flow in the headstock while running for an extended period of time at such a low speed.
However, that was not your question. NO, I have no experience moving a mounted scroll saw to a stand alone configuration. A controllable motor seems that it would be the only challenge.

Thanks for the Reply Dusty and Yes that is my main challenge is a controllable motor.. have thought about using pulleys like on the PSWood Scrollsaws. But just trying to figure out what motor to get. I know i would need a powerful one just one that is quiet. I have contemplated maybe a fan motor, either an attic fan motor or maybe a box fan motor that would give me 3 speeds but didn't know if it would be too much strain on the motor pulling the scrollsaw instead of plastic fan blades.
As far as the power pro.. I was running in a garage where the temperature did get up to 85 degrees so that didn't help I know

.. but it wasn't bad just a little warm

I have my Scroll Saw on a Power Station. You may want to look into that option also.
