New wood arrival

Post by masonsailor2 »

We got a call from a wood broker that we have dealt with for years who knows my wife’s penchant for Honduran Mahogany. He had a unit of 4/4 and 8/4 that he managed to acquire so we drove to LA to take a look at it and the quality was amazing. They delivered it yesterday and we surfaced a piece of the 4/4 and it was thicker than expected on the rough. We managed to get 1.0” after surfacing. The main attraction was the one piece of 8/4 which is 22” wide by 12’ long. We haven’t seen widths like that in Honduran for quite a while. This will be enough to finish off this house. The price was very reasonable also.
