520 Rip Fence Alignment

I installed a 520 fence a couple years ago and now when I press the lower
Locking Handle to secure the front of rip fence the back of the fence moves 1/16"or so to the side which changes my settings.
I don't know what I did to cause this or how to fix the problem.
]Can anyone help solve this issue?

I think if you try and push on the fence towards the rails when you move it then this will go away. It is something that procedure can fix.
Keep in mind the quill feed allow one to adjust the blade position so keep that in your bag of tricks. Sometimes that last little bit is hard to get by just moving the fence and it really simple using the quill.

I would hope that that happens. To me, this indicates that the Front Lock has secured the rip fence against the rail which is where it should have been when you aligned the rip fence. The rip fence has now returned to that aligned position. Now locking the rear of the fence holds it in that position. The fence should NOT move when you subsequently lock the rear.

I would hope that that happens. To me, this indicates that the Front Lock has secured the rip fence against the rail which is where it should have been when you aligned the rip fence to 90°. The rip fence has now returned to that aligned position. Now locking the rear of the fence holds it in that position. The fence should NOT move when you subsequently lock the rear.

No one said this, so I will.
The purpose(s) of the front clamp is to BOTH align the fence to the rail and to clamp it there.
That is true for all versions of the SS rip fences.
i.e. As Dusty said it should move(realign) the fence when engaged when the fence is NOT properly aligned to the rail.
P.S. That is why thee should always engage the front clamp first before the rear clamp. That sequence is built into the Mark 5/V500 fence.
