aligning rails for Power Pro

after a month of receiving my new PowerPro head, I removed and installed the new head on my Mark5. Since then I had back surgery so I decided to use the new unit. I ran like expected and more. I ran into a problem the head sliding back and forth on the rails. I tried oils and beeswax mixes I had. Still no fix. I lifted the head and noticed that one of the end caps was not all the way in. The end head was not seated completely. I had for gotten that the opposite end the screws had come lose. The raised end cap was off, and using a square, I aligned the end of the tubes. I replaced every thing and check the head for ease movement. The head moved back and forth with ease. I tighten all of the screws and adjusted the locking lever. So when replacing the head make sure that the rails are squared on the left side of the head to make sure all is aligned.

I must misunderstand. It does not make sense.
Is it possible the tubes were 'twisted'(not parallel).

DON'T use oils and beeswax on the tubes. Use Johnston paste wax original.

For clarification:
The Way Tubes are the "rails" that the headstock slides on. These tubes must be identical in length and they are inserted into machined holes in either the "Base Arm" (left side) or the "Tie Bar" (right side). The tubes must be fully before the set screws are secured. Once that is done, it has been my experience that the tubes, Base Arm and Tie Bar are all properly oriented with respect to one another.
If the tubes are not fully inserted, you might have problems lowering the headstock down into the horizontal position due to overall length being excessive.
It has also been my experience that this might not result in the headstock (or carriage) sliding smoothly from one end to the other. When this happens, I loosen the four set screws and rotate the tubes about a 1/4 revolution and then secure the set screws. This normally results in the headstock sliding smoothly. If it does not, repeat the procedure and check.
As for grease and oil on the tubes - NEVER. I use nothing other than a quality paste wax. I prefer Johnsons Original Floor Wax.
