Greenie - worth it? = sweat equity + parts$

Is it worth the investment of putting about $175 in parts an old Gilmer drive machine?
I picked up a free rusted Greenie (the serial plate indicated 1956). It was an "outside" the barn find.
The old GE motor spun freely so since the power cord had disintegrated into nothing I connected a good cable and the motor jumped to life. (Slightly bad sounding bearings all. Of course, the bearings would be replaced.)
I was going to use it on a dedicated jointer set up so it will not be the main Shopsmith head stock in my shop.
Thanks again much!
