They'll do just about anything to get an unsuspecting reader to click on their link.

This is the one I received today.

I have not gotten a DHL one in quite a while. However, I get UPS and FedEx ones often.

I would be more likely to fall for a FedEx or UPS. I get a lot packages from them. However, I hesitate to click on anyone's "link".

If I would get one I'll probably delete it and then contact the carrier.

NO CLICKY the LINKY

I have never in my life gotten a package from DHL so that one is a no brainer. UPS and FedEx are another story. I always know when I have a package coming from either one so if I get an email with nothing "in the mail" it is a scam.

Anytime I have a question I just look at the senders address in the message header. The scams do not come from UPS or FedEx. Also they usually say a delivery was attempted and nobody was home. That is bogus since the only time someone needs to be home is if a signature is required and in that case an attempted delivery notice is left at your door.

I also always forward the scam emails to the appropriate companies (UPS, FedEx, USPS, etc.)scam department.

Many of the scam postings can be detected by looking for grammatical errors.

If they send me attachments in those emails, I simply download them and save them in my VIRUS folder. I have Linux on my computer, so they are pretty much harmless.

Why do you bother to save the attachments?

I delete the email without opening the attachments. Am I missing something?
