Bench Reassembly Help

New user and new to ShopSmith. I picked up a 1983 500 a couple of months ago. I have slowly been taking it apart a bit at a time to clean it up and restore it. I am now reassembly some of it.
I think I have misplaced a part but can't figure out what it is. Looking at this diagram for reference:

I am assembling the Base and Base Arm, parts 1 and 24. My Base Arm Pin appears to connect a bit differently. Rather than having retaining rings (I think) there is a hole in the Base Arm that aligns to a hole that goes through the Base Arm Pin. I might have thought it was a roll pin that would go through but the holes in the Base Arm are quite a bit larger.
Can someone confirm how the the Base Arm Pin should be held in place?
