Sadly in many schools today discourage teaching about 9/11 other than to say it was bad event like Pearl Harbor. The school skims over it as fast as they can because they do not want to hurt any ones feelings. They minimize the event because of the diverse ethnic make up of the schools. Most kids under 25 have little knowledge of what it really was. Mass Murder.
