Yay or Nay Shopsmith accessory.

Would anyone know if this is a Shopsmith accessory. It was given to me when I picked up my ShopSmith from my friend. His dad had lots of stuff.

It appears to be a belt driven arbor with a saw blade that I would readily discard. As rusty as it is, I would bet that the bearings are shot. In fact, it may have bushings rather than bearings. I believe I see a small hole in the one pillow block; a strong indication (along with apparent age) thatit needs to be oiled.
I am normally a keeper (especially of "old" things) but I think this is a discard.

If you decide to remove the blade, realize the shaft/nut are left hand threaded.
Does the shaft turn easily in the pillow blocks?
Nay to is it SS, yea to keeping(for God knows what).

The only use I can see for that is as an arbor for a buffing wheel.

Not a Shopsmith/Magna part. The only possible use Magna would have for a shaft similar to that would be with pulleys at each end and would have been for the Magna Line tools to power three or more tools from one motor. I have not seen anything from the Magna Line tools for a setup of more than two tools on a single stand. The Magna Line tools used the SPT's in combination or with the Model 710 Table Saw.
I would not use that shaft with a saw blade! Buffing, sanding remotely from a motor okay.
