Made these folding adirondack chairs for my son and his wife as their wedding present. Red Grandis finished with teak oil. If you haven't tried red grandis, it is a sustainable wood in the eucalyptus family which is farmed on plantations in South America. It is supposed to last well in outdoor applications. I found it easy to work with and I was really impressed with the appearance once it was finished.

Very nice chairs! Did you work from someone else's plans/designs or did you design them yourself?

Very nice. I plan on making some Adirondack chairs next year myself. I love that they fold up. Where did you get your design?

Sorry. I wish I had plans to share. I copied an LL Bean chair design from old chairs we inherited when we bought our cottage in Maine. I do have a pattern that I made and a bill of materials. Not sure how to share the patterns in a way that would be useful.

The folding aspect is also a big improvement over the standard design.

Yes, also the curve of the back and seat makes them much more comfortable tha the standard.
