Chair Repair

About 40 years ago we bought our dining room furniture from a second hand store. It’s all oak and came originally from Sears. We think it’s from the 20’s. One of the chairs suffered damage when a puppy couldn’t resist chewing a leg and then sometime later the seat split right down the middle. Finally I’ve gotten around to fixing it (I’m the great procrastinator). Here’s some pics of the leg damage and after.
I filled the voids with Timber Mate, sanded, stained, sealed with spray shellac and polished. I've never tried anything like this before. I'm pleased with the way it came out.
