Mine too. She’s learned that A) everyone should get a complete kitchen makeover at least once every ten years, and B) it should only take about an hour to complete.

OKAY. I get the message that you do not like "First Time Flippers" on DIY.

Since I do watch it from time to time, my curiosity makes me ask. Just what is it about this (these) show(s) that makes your skin crawl (finger nails on a chalk board)? Please! Try to be specific.

Is there a program of similar purpose that you do enjoy watching?

Love the DIY ch, most shows are pretty good...my main problem with FTF show is one I amazed that these folks don't seriously hurt them self because they really have no idea what they are doing, that in itself is cringe worthy, then there is the practical aspect, some one is buying these houses, where nothing is done correctly or done badly, structural damage they have done just to make something look pretty, bad electrical (possible burning the house down the road) because of it. etc... I am starting to warm up to the show, it is funny at times, I have watched several, I was just embellishing...lol...I have never seen one show where inspectors came in to check, but it is obvious they must, and at the end of the show it looks beautiful, which tells me professionals hired by the show must have came in behind these people, because no way they did it.

I am just old school, if your gonna do it, do it right, if you don't know how, find some one that does, and learn how to do it right. Still drives me crazy to watch it, these folks have zero common sense, must be scripted...nobody is that stupid with some of the stuff they do. So if that is the case they should let people know, this is entertainment and professionals finished the project, because doing that folks watching think well they did it, guess I can too, and bad things happen, some body gets hurts people buy houses that are dangerous to live in with no warning.

But the inspector, even if he is conscientious, can't see bad electrical inside a wall.

Don't know about what they do in Utah, but here you have an inspection BEFORE you an close up the wall.

There's 2 kind of inspections here. Ont the buyer hires some one the to check over the house. The other one is the local gov. ,making sure the builder follows building standards.
