Was the old Mark 7's drive spur different than the Model 10
or the 5/V?

I got an unrestorable MkVII, a few years ago, and it had a
different looking drive spur. This one had longer spur tips
on it. Well, wider. I don't have it with me, it is at my
brother's house. Those sharp points are about 1/2 inch
wide, instead of the 3/8ths ones on the other spur.
I hope that makes sense. (My measuring may be wrong,
I'm guessing on the sizes.) When you look at a drive spur,
from the side, the 4 points don't go all the way out to the
edge of the base. On this one, they do.

Not that I have found. The Lathe Drive Center for the Shopsmith tools has not changed much since the introduction of the Model 10E in 1947 till now. It had the set screw size change from 1/4" to 5/16" in late 1953 then in the 1960's had the black protective coating added. It has had three part numbers 102-34X (47 to 51), 12 278 (51 to 64) and 505715 (64 to present).

I do not know specs for any of the clone machines lathe drive centers which could be somewhat different. There have been non-Shopsmith Lathe Drive Centers show up for sale online.
